Brac, Losinj, Osijek, Pula and Rijeka. Only
smaller aircraft can land on Brac and
Losinj.

The national airline company, regional member of the airlines association Star
Alliance, links Croatia by direct flights with a range of European destinations:

Croatia is a member of the Eurolines system
- Europe's largest and best connected scheduled
coach operator. It connects over 500 cities
in 25 European countries. Deutsche Touring
scheduled coach operator maintains regular
service from German towns to different tourist
destinations, including Croatian destinations
(together with holiday packages). Coach operators
from many countries organize scheduled and
ad-hoc lines to Croatia, with or without packages.
In summer months there are numerous tourist
coach lines from all European countries to
Croatian destinations. Check with the travel
agencies in you country specializing for travel
to Croatia.
Many Croatian coach operators -
members of UHPA, maintain scheduled international
coach lines covering all major European cities, as far as London, Paris, Rotterdam
and Amsterdam, many cities in Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia,
Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro
and Macedonia.
Bus service between major cities (intercity
lines) is quite frequent, as well as regional
services. The most frequent bus terminal in
Croatia is Bus Terminal Zagreb (in Croatian "Autobusni
kolodvor Zagreb"). On their official pages
you can find the timetable of
all arrivals to Zagreb and departures from
Zagreb. In almost every larger town, there
is a bus station (Autobusna Stanica) where
tickets are sold and timetables are clearly
displayed.
Croatian travel agencies - members of UHPA have at their disposal own fleets
of modern motor coaches and mini buses. They can be hired or transfers can be
organised with or without interpreters or guides, assistance and porterage.
By Train
The rail network connects all major Croatian cities, except Dubrovnik. There
are direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany,
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Yugoslavia. In 2003, between Bratislava and Split,
like on weekends from June to September 2002), a tourist train taking also sleeping
car and a car enabling transport of private cars and bicycles, will be organized.
There are indirect lines to almost all other European countries. The types of
train services that operate in Croatia are: EuroCity (EC), InterCity (IC), express
(Ex), fast (B), local and accelerated trains. Eurocity and Intercity trains are:
EC "Mimara": Berlin - Leipzig - Munich - Salzburg - Ljubljana - Zagreb; IC "Croatia":
Vienna - Maribor - Zagreb; IC "Kvarner": Budapest - Zagreb - Rijeka; IC "Drava":
Budapest - Cakovec - Zagreb - Ljubljana - Venice.
Train is a popular mode of transport in Croatia. The day trains between major
cities also conveys full restaurant facilities, whilst the overnight services
convey sleeping car accommodation as well as seating accommodation. Between Zagreb
and Split, particularly in high season, several night trains take private cars.

By Boat
Ships and ferries operate along the coast and to the islands. Express coastal
lines start from Rijeka and call at many towns and islands all the way to Dubrovnik.
There are regular and seasonal services to Italian ports of call (Bari, Ancona,
Vasto, Pescara, Giulianova, Venice, Grado, and Trieste) and Slovenian Koper.
Aboard the ships and ferries operating along the coast and across the Adriatic
to Italian ports (except aboard the fast ships and catamarans) there are restaurants
and you can either reserve a cabin or travel on the deck in reclining seats.
In the tourist season there are many additional tourist lines and excursions
from/to the mainland and island destinations and between Croatian and Italian
ports.

Travellers with their own vehicle can use 4 border crossings between
Hungary and Croatia, 29 between Slovenia and Croatia, 23 between
Bosnia-Hercegovina and Croatia and 7 with Serbia and Montenefro.
A valid driving licence, automobile registration card and your green card (unless
regulated differently) are necessary for entry into Croatia with a vehicle. All
damage to vehicle must be reported at the border when entering the country.
International
driving licence is generally not required but national licence has to be officially
translated major languages.
Road
assistance is organised by HAK (Croatian
Automobile Club) and it operates on major roads and in towns. Unique phone number
is available to drivers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day: 987 (for mobile phone
calls you should dial prefix 01 if you are in Croatia or +385 1 from abroad). Road
